They say to score it with a razor and then snap it along the line but I used to make plaques out of plexi and I found that a slow speed jigsaw with a wood blade will allow you to make corners or shapes without fracturing the plastic. Just start off really slow with the blade barely moving and once the cut is started you can speed it up a bit but never full speed as the plastic will just melt.
I took two 2x4x8 and placed them on edge, spaced them 1/2" apart and used two pieces of scrap wood on the ends to keep them evenly spaced using sheet rock screws. The line on the lexan that I wanted to cut goes directly above this space between the 2x4x8. I then made my cut using a jig saw with a wood blade. As stated before make your cut slowly. Mine came out fantastic.

If you are talking about a plastic trim, the best way to remove it is by spraying a wax remover product like McKee's 37 Wax Remover for Plastic, directly on a towel and gently applying it to the plastic trim.
