A "Volta's Pile" or "Voltaic Pile" consisted of discs of zinc and copper with pieces of cardboard soaked in brine between the metal plates.

It was the first "wet cell battery". This principle is used similarly today but the metals and fluids are quite different.

The first electrical circuit was created by an Italian physicist named Luigi Galvani in the 1780s. He discovered a frog's leg would twitch when touched with two pieces of metal.

His work was taken up by Professor Alessandro Volta who first invented the "Voltaic Pile".

What is the Raeson for voltas downturn in late 1990 in case of voltas turnaround to the big bang?

when American giant Carrier introduced a range of new generation Ac's, which consequently knocked off Voltas from its perch. Things took a turn for the worse in the mid- and late-1990s when South Korean consumer electronics powerhouses Samsung and LG entered India. They had low-cost products and their ad budgets were huge. Voltas lost market share and by 2001, it had slipped to the seventh position in the pecking order with a market share of just seven per centThen voltas thought of going for reducing the price of the product which can be achieved by two ways one by reducing the cost of production by mass production & by using newer technology.

How do you measure eccentricity of pile?

The eccentricity of a pile is typically measured by determining the horizontal distance between the pile's centerline and the applied load or resistance. This measurement is crucial in structural design to ensure the pile can safely bear the intended loads without excessive deflection or failure. Eccentricity must be within specified limits to prevent structural issues or stability concerns in pile-supported structures.
