A barnacle latches onto a rock with its single 'foot', much like a sucker, and hangs on for dear life. It can't protect itself and has to rely on it's shell to try to protect it from any hungry predators, dogs, cats(Although unlikely), or humans that wonder by.
The ribbed mussel does not exhibit feeding activity during low tide primarily because it is exposed to air, which can lead to desiccation (drying out). To conserve moisture and protect itself from harsh environmental conditions, it closes its shells tightly. Additionally, the lack of water limits the availability of food particles, such as phytoplankton and organic matter, that they filter from the water. Consequently, these mussels resume feeding only when submerged during high tide.
During a spring tide, the high water mark would be high up on the beach on the flood, and very far out on an ebb tide. During a neap tide, the high water mark is not so high or so low as during a spring tide.
It is a right angle
High tide and low tide can affect many things. If you are going to fish in the ocean, fish sometimes bite more during a certain tidal interval. Certain forms of marine creatures are more active during high tide or low tide.
