The earthquake hazard can effect out society by health, safety, and economic viability, in the United Sates and throughout the world. Recent earthquakes demonstrated the risks to modern industrial societies from such cataclysmic events, affecting everything from massive loss of life, infrastructure damage, and financial instability. Much larger earthquakes can be expected to occur adjacent to many metropolitan regions in the United States.
Examples:
1. The Northridge earthquake (1994) was a modest (magnitude 6.7) event which caused 57 deaths, over $20 billion of damage, and created major disruption of the Los Angeles area infrastructure.
2. The Kobe, Japan earthquake was another modest 6.9 magnitude event that same year which caused 5,480 deaths, over 150 billion dollars of damage and a major disruption of Japan's economy with global impacts.
it can affect an ecosystem by killing it or burning it
No. Size does not necessarily affect the magnitude of an earthquake. In fact, a deep earthquake will have less of an effect on the surface than a shallow earthquake of the same magnitude.
An earthquake
IT hurts you
Energy is stored in rocks adjacent to the site of a future earthquake as elastic potential energy due to the stress and strain built up in the rocks. This stored energy is released suddenly when the rocks undergo sudden movement along a fault line, resulting in an earthquake.
it affects their society by the earthquake
The formation of a future Pangaea will affect the availability of water for society by closing off the access to certain bodies of water.
Haiti's earthquake has effected it's future in so many ways that i think there will be more than over 100 earthquakes that will happen in the future
because the buildings fall and the scientist have to learn how to make better ones so in the future they know what building is better
well, if everyone goes gay for example, society as a whole will be unable to breed naturally and therefore we, as a species, will not multiply.
no they did not but the had a earthquake that switched the cycle
it's earthquake-proof.
how did Linoleum affect society
While it is theoretically possible for a 10.0 earthquake to occur in the future, the likelihood of such a powerful earthquake happening in the near future is extremely low. Earthquakes of that magnitude are very rare and typically occur over longer time periods.
World Future Society was created in 1966.
it can affect an ecosystem by killing it or burning it
The future does not affect the past. The past effects the future.
