The climate in Denmark has a very small effect on peoples lives compared to many other countries. We don't have floods, hurricanes or natural disasters of that kind. We have the occasional snow storm, a bad storm, reasonably large amounts of rain, but rarely weather that can kill people. We had a hurricane (the first I have ever seen) in 1999 which killed about 9 people, generally due to ignorance (going outside, when warned to stay in) but that is the absolute worst I heard of. To keep it in perspective people are still talking about the snow storm of '78, so we don't have really bad weather.
