Fusion is when a force causes the nuclei of two atoms to merge together. Say, for instance, two hydrogen atoms (each containing a single proton in their nucleus) are near each other. Normally, they give great resistance to being put too close. However, a force (most likely incredible heat) manages to force their nuclei together. They become a single nucleus, containing two protons. It now has the structure of helium, and is considered to be it.

What is a change that occurs when one or more substances change into new substances with different properties?

Chemical reactions, normally. However, radioactivity, nuclear fission, or nuclear fusion also fit this definition.

A kind of change in matter that produces a new substance?

Nuclear and Chemical changes result in new substances.

How are nuclear fusion and chemical synthesis reactions similar?

Chemical synthesis form a new molecule; nuclear fusion form a new atom.

What is it called when new nuclear membranes form?

After the triple cores melted during nuclear fusion

How does the nuclear fusion creates new elements inside stars?

Small nuclei combine to form larger nuclei

How is a nuclear fusion the same as a chemical reaction?

They are...reactions and can lead to new elements; but the big difference is that a nuclear fusion involve particles from the atomic nucleus and a very great energy is needed.

What are the Application of nuclear fusion?

Nuclear fusion has been used for nuclear transformation, which is the production of new materials by fusion, and for the type of specific type of transformation called nuclear synthesis, which is the production of materials not normally found in nature. It has been used in nuclear bombs, specifically fusion bombs or hydrogen bombs. There is hope that nuclear fusion can be used to provide power for generation of electricity, though this has not yet been achieved in a practical system. There is a link below to an article on nuclear fusion.

What generates the sun's energy?

Nuclear fusion. Stellar fusion involves a ton of different fusion reactions throughout the star's life. The primary and (usually) the longest burning is the fusion of hydrogen into helium. This consumes a great number of the nuclear energy in the sun, and it usually accounts for the type of fusion that goes on for most of the life of the star. This is the process.

In a nuclear reaction engery is released by the combination of two elements into a new element this process is an example of?

nuclear fusion

Nuclear fusion releases energy in what form?

Nuclear fusion releases energy in the form of heat and light. This occurs when the nuclei of two atoms combine to form a new, heavier nucleus, releasing a large amount of energy in the process.

In a nuclear reaction energy is release by the combination of two elements into a new element is the process of what?

The process of combining elements to create a new element is nuclear fusion. As we normally consider it, in this process, a great deal of energy is liberated. They are exothermic. But there are types of fusion that are endothermic, though we only encounter them in something like a supernova.
