Weather can affect people living anywhere in many different ways. If you live on the coast, you could get hurricanes or tropical storms that can damage your homes, hospitalize people, and sometimes kill people. If you live further inland, you could get some of the same storm, but not as bad as what the people on the coast got, but it could still damage homes and threaten the lives of people. Power outages happen a lot when things like hurricanes or tropical storms hit. When a tornado hits, depending on the scale of it, it could just ruin a few small hills of dirt that aren't packed down very well, or take down a huge section of a small town. With snow storms, most people go out to stores and stock up on supplies so they don't have to go out in it if they don't have to, and just makes most people want to stay in their homes. This can also lead to power outages, which could result in people getting hypothermia due to no heat if they lack a generator.
