LASERS are physics!
Physics is the science of matter and energy.
LASERS are all about energy and in its most simplest of terms, you could easily say that laser light is a perfect example of the power of positive energy.
When a type of matter such as a gas or a crystal or a semiconductor is pumped with energy, LASERS are created. The actual laser light that we are familiar with occurs when "Population Inversion" is achieved. Population Inversion occurs when a system such as a group of atoms or molecules exists in state with more members in an excited state than in lower energy states.
Sound complicated? It is not. Think of these atoms or molecules just lying around in the lobby of a hotel. Then suddenly, a bright light, no a super bright light, brighter than any light you can imagine bursts through the hotel lobby doors and "excites" these atoms up into higher floors or excites them so much they jump through the ceiling up into higher levels of the hotel. When you have more atoms in the excited state (so excited they are up partying on the 13th floor) than in a non-excited state (still down in the lobby on the main floor) you achieve population inversion and that's when laser light can occur!
Lasers are related to physics because it takes physics to understand how lasers work!

Another name for the optic nerve head is the optic disc.
The optic Chiasm is located where the optic nerves partially cross on the brain
The junction of the retina and optic nerve is called the optic disc or optic nerve head. This is where the optic nerve exits the eye and carries visual information from the retina to the brain. The optic disc is also known as the blind spot because it lacks photoreceptor cells and cannot detect light.

The best place to find information about Laser Optic Surgery is to at your eye doctor or general practitioner. They can provide detailed information about the procedure and how it will affect you.
laser and led
Glaucoma laser surgery is a medical procedure that uses laser technology to treat glaucoma, a group of eye conditions that can lead to optic nerve damage and vision loss.
There is a strong association between optic neuritis and MS
No. Fibre optic cables use light instead of electrical signals. Depending on the function of the optical fibre either a laser or an LED will be used.
The laser shines through the fiber optic cable because the edge of the inside of the cable can act as a mirror. This is called internal reflection.
Fiber optic wires along the ocean transfer the information in the form of pulses of laser.
You can bend the beam of a laser with sound using a technique called acousto-optic modulation. This involves passing the laser beam through a medium that is being vibrated at the frequency of the sound wave. The sound wave changes the refractive index of the medium, causing the laser beam to bend.

Depends on the characteristics of the tube. Coat the interior surface with a (perfect) mirror finish, and the laser beam will continue quite happily. Fill the tube with either multiple fiber optic strands, or build it like one huge fiber optic strand and the beam will continue as well.

That laser light really did damage my optic nerve.
