I do not know exactly but if I were to guess, it would take about 10 days because if you turn the order around into sedimentary-> igneous it takes 10 days there too if it is in a river, or near one.

What processes must occur in order for sediments to turn into sedimentary rock?

For sediments to turn into sedimentary rock, several processes must occur: first, sediments accumulate in layers, often in bodies of water. Then, compaction occurs as the weight of overlying materials compresses the sediments. Following compaction, cementation takes place, where minerals precipitate from groundwater and bind the sediment particles together, forming solid rock. These processes collectively transform loose sediments into consolidated sedimentary rock.

How does erosion effect the rock cycle?

erosion can effect the rock cycle by turning igneouse and metamorphic rocks into sediments and eventualy turn into a sedimentary rock such as sandstone

What is required to turn an igneous rock into a sedimentary rock?

the igneous rock must be broke down or weathered down by erosion into sediments that then compact and cement together by pressure (and maybe heat- i cant remember whether or not) over the time period of many years

How long does it take liquid urine to turn solid?

Urine does not naturally turn solid. It may form crystals or sediments when left for a while, but it does not solidify like a substance that undergoes a phase change from liquid to solid.

Rocks that form when layers of rock particles are squeezed or stuck together?

I beileve the awnser would be Sedimentary Rocks because you know that if Igneous rocks are weathering, they turn into sediments. And if the sediments are squeezed or stuck together it would make a sedimentary rock. And the rock particles are sediments.

What can happen to a rock once its form?

it can turn into molten rock it can be heated and pressured and turn into metamorphic it can weather and turn to sediments

What happens when rocks weathered?

When sedimentary rocks are weathered and eroded, they turn into sediments. And after compaction and cementation of the sediments, it will turn back into sedimentary rock.

How can an igneous rock change into a sedimentary rock over millions of years?

When an igneous rock is eroded by rain, wind, etc. the small grains and dust are swept into streams and rivers. Eventually they are deposited in lakes, seas or oceans. After a long time these sediments build up and are covered by later sediments. Due to compaction from overlying sediments they gradually turn into a rock, a sedimentary rock.

How do sediments turn into coral reefs?

Sediments turn into coral reefs when coral colonies are formed over them, a process that can take thousands of years.

What do you need to turn metamorphic into sedimentary?

To turn metamorphic rock into sedimentary rock, you need to weather and erode the metamorphic rock into smaller particles or sediments. These sediments are then transported by natural processes such as water, wind, or ice. Once deposited, they undergo lithification, which involves compaction and cementation, transforming them into sedimentary rock.

How do sediments turn into rock?

Sediments turn into rock through a process called lithification, which involves compaction and cementation. Compaction occurs when sediments are squeezed together by the weight of overlying layers, forcing out water and reducing volume. Cementation occurs when minerals dissolved in groundwater precipitate and bind sediment grains together to form solid rock.
