Around 3 months.

There are certain things you can do to speed up this process.

There are certain factors that will naturally increase or decrease the speed also. Such as cold weather making it take longer for them to rot. Hot weather making them rot faster. Worms and dampness combined with warmth making it much faster.

Never add sticks or branches to compost as they do not rot and make it impossible to shift your compost once the leaves and grass have decomposed.

Obviously wood does rot over time but it takes much much much longer...

Why are Impatien stems rotting and breaking off at the base when the leaves and blossums appear healthy and there is no evidence of insect activity?

Impatiens stems may be rotting and breaking off at the base due to a fungal disease known as root rot, which thrives in moist conditions. This can happen even if the leaves and blossoms appear healthy. Ensure the plant is not overwatered and has good drainage to prevent root rot from occurring. Periodically inspect the roots for any signs of rot and consider adjusting watering practices.

How long does it take for a crisp packet to rot?

A crisp packet can take hundreds of years to decompose due to its material composition, which includes layers of plastic and aluminum foil. These materials are not easily biodegradable and can persist in the environment for a very long time. Recycling or proper disposal is important to reduce the impact of crisp packets on the environment.
