What is photosynthesis in a yucca plant?

For photosynthesis in a Yucca Plant, the plant must be watered at least 5 times a day. The Yucca Plant is very sensetive. If you cut it, it will not grow, but it will die effective in about 1,2,3, or 4 weeks. I hope I helped you out! -Scientist of CA; Juliana DeVoccha

What time of year do you prune a yucca plant?

It is best to prune a yucca plant in the late winter or early spring before the plant begins its new growth cycle. This timing allows the plant to recover and regrow during the active growing season. Avoid pruning yucca plants during the fall or winter when they are dormant.

How do you kill a yucca plant?

One thing you can try is to dig up as much as you can of the roots, then pour Pramatol on them. It is a ground sterilizer and kills everything when used right. There are others you can use but you might want to talk to a person at your local nursery for advice. After having a large yucca removed, the roots may continue to sprout, especially if they were chopped up and scattered in the process. Where you had one large yucca removed, dozens of smaller ones may sprout for the next few years. Use a small paint brush to apply Ortho Brush-B-Gon, Poison Ivy Killer, full-strength, to the small yuccas as they sprout. It may take a few years for all the potential roots to sprout and several applications to kill each sprout, but you can eradicate the yucca with perseverance and poison.

Your yucca plant is too tall can you cut it?

Yes, you can cut it. When a Yucca is cut off, it will generally form a new growth at the cut point, and sometimes more than one, resulting in a "fork," or branching. Also, very interestingly, if you strip the blades from the lower 12 inches, or so, of the cut off piece, and allow to air dry a few days to allow the cut or torn spots to "heal," or scab over, and THEN plant that cut off piece, it will take root, and you'll have another plant. I have used this technique many times to multiply my Yucca plants. I have been told that if the planting is done before the cut/damaged edges have dried out/sealed, that bacteria in the soil will get into the plant and cause it to rot and die. However, I'm not sure this part is correct because many times when I have pruned of the tops, and then simply threw them onto one of my compost piles, without any special treatment or help they took root and grew!!!!! Also, if the part you cut off is very long, you can cut it into several pieces, and plant them, gaining several plants from the one cutting.

Can cut hair take root in another part of the body?

No, that is not possible because cut hair is dead. The root of the hair shaft inside the hair follicle is the only part that is alive. There are medical procedures that transplant hair shafts, and they include the root in the process.

Your yucca is planted outdoors It has bloomed and dropped its petals Now the ugly stem is left What do you do about it?

Yucca plants leave a stiff, fibrous stalk after flowering that will turn pale and wither some but persist for a long time. After it has rotted some, it may break off. The easiest way to cut it is when it is still green, using long-handle loppers.

How can you get a yucca to branch?

A yucca will grow with a single straight stem unless the growing point is damaged either by frost or physical damage. Therefore if you want it to grow as a clump(multistemmed) cut out the growing point.
