Yes Brass can corrode especially if coupled to a more noble metal in which case it will undergo Galvanic Corrosion. Amines and Nitrogen containing compounds can cause Stress Corrosion Cracking.
With the exception of iron , no metals rust. Rust is the oxide of iron. However, most metals do form oxides. Notably Gold and Platinum do not readily form oxides.
An abandoned spacecraft would not rust in space since rust requires the presence of oxygen to occur. However, it may degrade over time due to exposure to radiation, micrometeoroids, and other harsh space conditions. The rate of degradation would depend on factors such as the spacecraft's materials and its orbit.
It depends on the quality of the nail. If it is painted it Amy take long to rust. In general it may take a month or so for the nail to rust.
Coat the rusted area with gun oil and let sit overnight. The oil will loosen and work its way into the rust.Pour a liberal amount of gun oil on the rusted area when you are ready to clean.Rub the rust spot lightly with a piece of brass wool or use 0000-gauge steel wool. Don't bear down on the gunmetal; use a gentle touch and take your time to avoid marring the metal finish.Use a new piece of brass wool as the old piece begins to fall apart, making sure to wipe off the brass shavings from the gun.Pour gun-bore cleaner onto a clean cloth and rub down the area where the rust has been removed. This will help treat the metal and make it more rust resistant.Wipe down the gun metal with another clean cloth to remove any residual cleaner, rust or brass-wool shavings.
It shouldn't, because trombones are made of brass, and brass doesn't rust.
Plastic pipe does not rust, brass does not rust, copper does not rust. Stainless steel does not rust, lead pipe does not rust.
I've heard that they can...
It's possible that it would be Firework rust blazing quicksilver brass forge chrome air fog gold or rainbow
Gold-plated brass necklaces typically do not rust, as rust is a term used specifically for the corrosion of iron. However, the brass underneath the gold plating can tarnish over time, especially if exposed to moisture, sweat, or harsh chemicals. To maintain their appearance, it's best to keep them dry and store them properly when not in use. Regular cleaning can also help prevent tarnishing.
Yes, over time brass can show mild signs of rust, especially inside the pipe. Most modern faucets are thoroughly treated to be rust resistant though, so you don't need to worry unless you have very old faucets.
Considering the enviroment, most manufactures make bathroom towel rings rust proof.
I would soak it in penetrating oil for a day or two, then take a brass or fine steel wire 3 or 4 inch wire wheel available at most hardware stores, mount it on a drill or small bench grinder and watch the rust fly off. Make sure you wear a face shield!! There is a different less aggresive procedure for fine or light rust. Contact me for that info.
Usually iron covered in enamel or chrome to rust-proof it.
iron ones would rust
To make a long story short, it depends. It depends on the amount of use, the amount of contact with liquids, and the type of metal it is. I would look for rust before each use and buy new cookware each year.
Lead oxidizes.noNope, cant rust as lead like copper /brass /bronze /muntz metals are non ferrous thus NO rusting is possible
