My guess is 17 hours if you don't: stop, get eaten by a shark, get swept away by an ocean current, tipped over by a huge wave, or veer off path into the middle of the pacific. But I have never kayaked in the ocean. This is just an estimate based off of the time I was told it takes to get from Oahu to Moloka'i (5 hours).
Ahupua'a are land divisions in ancient Hawaii. They are long strips of land from the mountains to the sea and they have all of the essentials that the ancient Hawaiians needed to live. Hawaiians were only allowed to take what was on their strip of land unless they have special permission. I know that there are tons of ahupuaa on Maui, but I would only like to know a few of the main ahupuaa (at least 10 main ahupuaa). There are many ahupuaa on maui, sorry, I just know what an ahupua'a is.
The latitude of Hawaii ranges from about 18° to 29° North, and the longitude of Hawaii ranges from about 154° to 178° West.

it depends where you are
Choosing a good kayak depends on a few factors, such as what type of water you will be paddling (ocean, lake, or whitewater) and what factors are important to you such as durability, weight, and quality. I would begin by deciding what type of kayak you are looking for, how and where you will be using the boat, and what your long-term expectations of the kayak are. Then I would visit a local kayak store and talk to a knowledgeable outdoorsman about what type of kayak would suit you best. Additionally, see the web link below to a guide that describes the different types of kayaks and what you should look for when choosing one to purchase.
about a year or less because kayaks and canoes are fast
It depends where exactly your starting and end points would be. A common West Maui starting point would be the historic whaling town of Lahaina. A common East Maui destination would be the town of Hana. To drive between those towns would take approximately 3 hours and 20 minutes.
