well since I'm a major in Biology and i have directed many things, i have found out that there will only be 21 after fertilization. See, chromosomes will start separating and a few will go to the fertilization process. that is how there is less than they usually have.

How many chromose will there be after fertilization?

After fertilization, the number of chromosomes will return to the normal diploid number for the species. This means that each human cell will typically have 46 chromosomes after fertilization - 23 from the egg and 23 from the sperm.

How many chromosomes does a zygote cell have compared to a parent cell in fertilization?

80 chormosomes

The joining of nuclei and chromosomes is know as what?

Fertilization

How many chromosomes are there in a human cell?

There are typically 46 chromosomes in a human cell, divided into 23 pairs. Each parent contributes half of these chromosomes during fertilization, leading to the full complement in the offspring.

How many chromosomes does a human sperm or egg cell contain?

The human egg or sperm cell is haploid and contains 23 chromosomes. After fertilization (egg and sperm fusion), the zygote will have 46 chromosomes (23 pairs).

How many chromosomes are in a chicken' s gametes?

A chicken's gametes (sperm and egg) each contain 39 chromosomes, which is half of the chicken's total chromosomes (78). When fertilization occurs, the resulting zygote will have the full complement of 78 chromosomes.

If a sex cell has eight chromosomes how many chromosomes will there be after fertilization?

in a normal human cell there are 46 chromosomes but sex cells only have half these (23) because when the female sex cell and the male sex cell come together and fertilise they add up to 46 (making a human cell which will multiply into a baby human) In your questions state you are only using 8 so a normal cell would have double that (16) to make a baby of that species of animal or plant ect.

What is the event that results when the maternal and paternal chromosomes combine?

Fertilization

How many chromosomes do a fertilized egg of a human have?

After fertilization all normal human cells contain the same number of chromosomes as the cells of an adult human - 23 pairs of chromosomes, for a total of 46 chromosomes. Before fertilization the ovum contains only 23 chromosomes. A second 23 chromosomes are provided by the sperm during fertilization.

How many chromosomes does the zygote have Following fertilization?

Sperm contains 23 chromosomes. An egg contains 23 chromosomes. The zygote (a fertilized egg) contains 46 chromosomes. Yet, it is also important to consider that the egg completes meiosis before joining with the sperm, thereby shedding half of its 46 chromosomes into a polar body that adjoins the zona pelucida lining.

How many chromosomes are there inside the nucleus of a sperm cell?

A sperm cell contains 23 chromosomes inside its nucleus. When combined with an egg cell during fertilization, the resulting zygote will have the full complement of 46 chromosomes.
