No, hurricanes typically last for a few days to a couple of weeks. They are intense storms that form over warm ocean waters and are fueled by moisture and heat. While a hurricane season may last for several months, individual hurricanes do not persist for a whole year.

There in the Eastern Pacific off the coast of Mexico, it turned into a hurricane and reached Catagory five before going into the Western Pacific then turning into a Typhoon. Typhoon John then did a oval track before returning into the Central Pacific. It traveled over 13000 Km (making it the second "farthest traveled") and lasted as a tropical storm/hurricane/typhoon for 31 days making it the "Longest Duration Hurricane/Typhoon"
one week
Yes. The longest-lived hurricane in the Atlantic basin was the 1899 San Ciriaco Hurricane, which was tracked for 32 days. It was not a hurricane during that whole time, of course; its intensity varied as it drifted in the North Atlantic. After three weeks, it had become extratropical but then drifted southward and became a tropical storm again and even regained hurricane status. It almost made a complete circuit around the North Atlantic.
