i personally think blistex. burts bees works pretty good to, but blistex works 2x better. my lips get very very chapt during the winter, vaseline works great to. when you first put on blistex it even feels more soothing!! so for chapt lips i would defenettly use blistex, but when it comes to sores i would use vaseline
They are not toxic. You will eventually ingest it(swallow it) also they have taste. Large amounts of blistex may be harmful but will not kill you.

Blistex is meant for blisters instead of cold sores. However, it has been known to sooth the sores due to the same soothing properties used for blisters. Depending on the strain of cold sore, the blistex will probably help, however it isn't recommended.
