Yes they do.But they only lay eggs in the ocean because the babies have to see water. If you have one as a pet I am 100% sure you won't breed them in your cage.It will not be a sucess. If someone says they suceeded they are lying. Yes, hermit crabs lay eggs. Hermit crabs should NOT be kept in a cage. They need to be in a 10-30 gallon tank with enough sand to completely bury them - as they need to burrow when they molt. When molting they will bury themselves for as long as 1 week to 2 months. If your hermit crab has nowhere to bury themselves when molting they will either retreat into their shell for 1 week - 2 months, or may even die. PLEASE do the proper research before buying hermit crabs. Pet stores may tell you that you can keep them in small cages with a sponge for water, but that is horribly incorrect. Hermit crabs CANNOT breath in regular air. The air needs to be at least 70-80% humidity, and they need to be in a tank that's at least 70 degrees fahrenheit. Hermit crabs can live up to 30 years. Most people only have their crabs from 1 week-3 months because they do not know how to properly care for them. If you own a hermit crab and do not care for them as stated above PLEASE look into either acquiring the proper tools needed for their care, or consider turning them over to an animal sanctuary that cares for hermit crabs.
There are many animals that lay eggs. Mammals do not. Here is a list of a few: Birds and Reptiles are the main animals known to lay eggs. The Platypus, even though it's a mammal, does infact lay eggs. Those are the main groups that I know of.
A female mayfly typically lays between 400 to 3,000 eggs in a single reproductive event, which takes place in a matter of hours before she dies.
Eggs cant lay eggs. Im assuming you mean can a bird lay three eggs in a day. When a female bird is layingn she will lay all her eggs at pretty much the same time. If you noticed 3 eggs then there shouldn't be anymore after that.
