The Netherlands uses Central European Standard Time (GMT+1). The difference between this and US Eastern Time (GMT -5) is usually 6 hours, and would only be different during the short periods when the US is on Daylight Savings Time and the Netherlands is not on Summer Time, which is about 2 weeks in late March and less than a week in the fall (October-November).
