By evening, after police had searched areas of rubble, that figure had risen to 189. A day later, after more searches, the toll hit 200. ---- The searches continued. On Thursday, 19 February, twelve days after the fires started, the death toll had risen to 208. ---- By 24 February, the death toll was 209, but police were still unsure how many people were still missing. The latest figure, in early March remains at 210, with some still missing.
