There are three primary rock types in the earth's crust. Most of the crust consists of igneous rock. Metamorphic rock is either igneous or sedimentary rock that has changed form through heating and compression. The most common type of exposed rock is sedimentary, which forms from the conglomeration of sea, lake or river sediments, or from the bodies of tiny creatures, such as corals and limestone.
As for the total number of different types, there are hundreds. As for the total number of individual rocks, this changes as rock is cemented together or breaks apart, and I'm not going to bother estimating it here.
There are almost no extrusive rocks on the earths surface because they are all under the earths surface. They are mainly lower than the earths surface.
Silicon
The Earth's crust is made primarily of solid rocks, including igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks. It also contains minerals like quartz, feldspar, and mica. Additionally, the crust may have small amounts of water, gases, and organic materials.
Igneous and metamorphic rock make up 95% of the rocks in Earth's crust. Only a thin layer is made up of sedimentary rock.
There are many different ryes of rocks in continental crust. Granite is one of the rocks that makes up continental crust.

they were and aree forced through earths crust in the form of lava.
The layer of solid unbroken rocks in the Earth's crust is called the lithosphere.
