That depends on a number of factors, including the biggest one; do you live in a city, or out in the country? If you live in or near a city, with bright street lights and a smear of bright all around the horizon, you can probably see about a thousand stars, of magnitude three or brighter.
If you live in the country, away from city lights, you can see several thousands.
And if you live in a REALLY dark area, like up in the mountains where the air is thin and the mountains block the lights of the distant towns, you can see millions, smeared across the Milky Way from horizon to horizon.
The rime
Relatively short rime span. To be an index fossil, a fossil organism must be easy to identify and many fossils of that organism must exist. You are using the 7th grade interactive reader...... Naughty naughty naughty
Food stays in the organs for a relatively long time as it travels through the digestive system, where it is broken down and absorbed. The process of digestion takes time as the food moves through the stomach, small intestine, and large intestine, where nutrients are extracted and waste is processed. Efficient digestion is important for the body to extract the necessary nutrients from food.
Simple Prisms A hexagonal prism is the most basic snow crystal geometry (see the Snowflake Primer). Depending on how fast the different facets grow, snow crystal prisms can appear as thin hexagonal plates, slender hexagonal columns (shaped a lot like wooden pencils), or anything in between. Simple prisms are usually so small they can barely be seen with the naked eye.
Snow and hail are different because they form in different ways. Snow forms when water vapor goes directly into the solid phase (ice) without becoming liquid water, forming the delicate crystals we call snowflakes. Hail stars out as snowflakes in the frigid upper reaches of a strong thunderstorm. Rime accumulates on a snowflake, turning it into a pellet of graupel. That pellet is held in the air by the strong updraft of the thunderstorm, making multiple trips up and down, accumulating a layer of ice with each trip. Eventually the new hailstone either becomes too heavy or moves to a weaker part of the updraft and falls.
