Look at the back of your fridge and find the plate that tells you how many amps it needs. Once you have Amps you multiply that number by the Volts coming out of your plug (usually 120v) and you will get Watts.

So once more:

Amps x Volts = Watts

How many watts required to get 230 volts from generator?

There are no watts to generate volts!! There is a relation that is watts = volts * Amps Generators are set up to generate a specific voltage regardless or watts or amps capacity it has.

How many amps will a 230 vac 3500 watts heater draw?

Since power = voltage * current we have current=power/voltage so 3500 watts/230 volts = about 15.218 amperes in a heater using a resistance to generate heat. This should be valid even though the "230 vac" indicates that it is an AC circuit and not a DC circuit.
