For re-greasing, apply a thin, even layer of grease to the surface. It should be enough to cover the parts without excess buildup. Over-greasing can attract dirt and cause components to fail prematurely.

To apply bicycle bearing grease for optimal performance and longevity, follow these best practices: Clean the bearings and surfaces thoroughly, apply a thin and even layer of grease, avoid over-greasing, and use a high-quality grease suitable for bicycle components. Regular maintenance and re-greasing as needed will help keep your bike running smoothly.
To apply bike bearing grease for optimal performance and longevity, follow these best practices: Clean the bearings and surfaces thoroughly, apply a thin and even layer of grease, avoid over-greasing, and use a high-quality, waterproof grease suitable for bike components. Regular maintenance and re-greasing as needed will help extend the life of the bearings.
The best method for applying bicycle hub grease to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the components is to first clean the hub thoroughly, then apply a thin and even layer of grease to the bearings and races. Make sure to not over-grease, as excess grease can attract dirt and cause friction. Regular maintenance and re-greasing as needed will help keep the hub running smoothly.
To apply bike hub grease effectively, first clean the hub thoroughly. Apply a thin layer of grease evenly on the bearings and races. Avoid over-greasing as it can attract dirt and cause friction. Reassemble the hub carefully and adjust the bearings to the correct tension. Regularly check and re-grease the hub to maintain optimal performance and extend the lifespan of your bicycle.
Hey man all bearings should have lube in them right from factory. You are not going to do anything worse then waste your time by re-lubing them, however if you do want to I suggest a higher end white lithium grease. I use white lightning, but any white lithium grease will work fine. The only time I re-lube my bearings is after extended periods of use and after they get wet, in which case I clean them up with wd-40 and then re-pack them with grease.

For most things no its not worth it, just use a bit of trial and error. Most things don't need specific greasing, but occasionally you get something that has the adhesive properties of superglue, then grease the tin next time. (all the crispy bits will slide off after a good soak)
On a light trailer or small boat trailer you remove the bearing cap, pack it with grease and re-fit it.
Each time you re-pack bearing you need to install the grease seals. After taking the drum or hub, apart use a new seal to assemble. Tap the seal with a hammer evenly.
Carefully flip the covers off them so you can see the grease on the balls. Now wash this grease off with gasoline using a small paintbrush. When all the grease is gone, re-grease them with new grease and put the covers back on.
Many car repair shops have different prices so it is hard to determine how much you would save. You would gain experience by doing it yourself but when shops do oil changes they also grease bearings when the grease deteriorates over time. Most people who change their own oil do not think to re grease their bearings.
To adequately service, re grease and rebuild all parts to a specified standard.
