The National Electrical Code does not specifically address whether you can have power outlets on a 2-hour fire-rated wall. However, you should consult with a qualified electrician to ensure that any electrical work done on a fire-rated wall complies with local building codes and fire safety regulations.
The amperage ratings for wire, that electricians use, are found in the electrical code book. For Canada the book is the Canadian Electrical Code and for the US it is The National Electrical Code book. Sections of these books might be found on line using these titles. There are calculations for the amperage rating that a wire is given that involve many inputs that include cross sectional area, diameter and length. If you want to give it a try, see related links below.
NEC 2005 Article 90.4 - "This code is intended to be suitable for mandatory application by governmental bodies that exercise legal jurisdicition over electrical installations, including signaling and communications systems, and for use by insurance inspectors. The authority having jurisdiction for enforcement of the code has the responsibility for making interpretations of the rules, for deciding on the approval of equipment and materials, and for granting the special permission contemplated in a number of the rules."
The National Electric Code is updated yearly and is usually adopted by a locality some years after release. You can check with your local license and permit office what version is in effect in your locale or ask an electrician. It contains the rules for all types of electric work. In the United States, the NEC is updated every 3 years on a very strict schedule and it is adopted by local jurisdictions at their discretion. It is not a government document until it is adopted by someone. The most recent update is the 2011 version. I know that Master Electrician tests are not yet based on it. Depending on the jurisdiction you may find a version as old as the 1999 NEC still in effect.
The answer to this question depends on which "Book Week" you are referring to…The National Children's Book Week usually occurs and is celebrated the week before Thanksgiving, according to Scholastic.comBut, because of the push for improvement in literacy, there have been other movements that incorporate a book week. According to readwritethink.com,there is another book week that is selected in May (usually around the second week) that encourages reading by elementary school children. This second book week may have come into existence due to the two-term or two-halves school year to encourage reading in schools throughout the academic year. Another program has a book week over the summer, at about mid-summer, to encourage reading by students even when school is not in session. Finally, the National Council of Teachers of English has a few holidays or literacy celebrations throughout the year that encourage the celebration of literacy through reading and writing. These events include Poetry Month in April, National Library Card Month in September, and National Day on Writing on October 20. Any one of these events might incorporate a book week.
