Some jobs started in 2009. Some are going on now. I am working in one of the temporary Census offices and (as of early Aprill of 2010) we are still scheduling people to attend testing/application sessions. At one time we thought there would already be enough qualified applicants by now, so we expected the testing to be over by now. In our local district, it has not panned out that way, so most of the workers (Census Enumerators) have not yet been hired. In other districts they may be much farther along than we are. If you want to know the situation in your area, call 866-861-2010 (during regular business hours), listen to the recording, punch in your ZIP code, and talk to your local office.
