He was certainly a mature man at the time(Galileo) By the way the Italian optical firm Officina Galileo which was established in the mid-late l9th century was named in his honor, somebody asked if anything was done posthujously to honor Galileo. The name literally translated means Galileo Office, some wouldsay, colloquially Galileo workshop.
