Time is "physical." We measure it by the rotations of the earth and orbits of the planets in the universe as observed from a fixed point on our planet.

Scientists tell us that "the universe is expanding and running down." In so many years, they say, into the future, our sun will "fizzle out" and life on planet earth will cease to exist.

If the universe is "running down," then, that necessitates a "starting point" when it was "wound up" and "set into motion."

So if time is physical, then the essence of time began when the created universe was first "set into motion."

Strictly speaking time has no beginning neither does it have an end. Time is something that we humans give to a certain period of events that happen to govern our lives. We measure time by what affects our lives. Time is essential so that some form of organization may be made to out lives. We need time to be able to associate events that are past present and future.

Time as we know it is set at twenty four hours in a day, which in turn is governed by the rotation of the earth.

A LOGICAL APPROACH TO TIME:

Time is, by its nature, MEASUREABLE. We measure time bY counting and dividing into smaller segments (hours, days, minutes, etc)of a larger whole ( ie. 60 "minutes" in 1 "hour). This demands an obvious: There is a large finite whole, which is what allows the division thereof into smaller segments and subsegments, (Years into 365 days into 24 hours into 60 minutes per hour, 60 sec per min etc.) Without an hour or a larger whole, of what would they the smaller divisions comprise and be a measure of? Without the larger whole, all measurements of time are arbitrary and meaningless. Time we measure by increments, and smaller increments of those increments, and smaller of those etc.

The truth is, if time were infinite with no beginning or end, we would not be able to divide it into smaller measureable increments. Ex. How could you divide for ever in half (in half being the first time division measurement to be made of any larger whole time increment). The answer is obvious and proveable, forever (or eternity or infinity etc.) cannot be divided in half, as being able to do so would require points of reference; a beginning first point and a ending last point, of which forever or eternity or infinity has neither, and as such is indivisible, and as such is not measureable by increments and divisions and as such is not time, in the sense as we know it.

By that we can then see that because we experience time in our 3d plus 1 dimension of time physical universe that operates in accordance with the observeable principle of entropy (from low to high), we also know it do be divisible though for sure we are not about the exact age of the universe of 13.6 billions years?, we can there fore not know for sure the exanct length of time ago that time began, but that it did began, with the creation of the universe and like an egg timer is winding down to an ending finale tick.

The interesting thing, is that you must have an infinity, eternity, forever etc etc, in order to "give birth" to a finite condition like Time. So Regardless of how long ago the egg timer of time started, and regardless of when it will end, there is a forever surrounding this "bubble" of time that we are currently experienceing, and outside this bubble of time is where the true reality lies, as it always will be, and always was even before this epoch of time, and so though beyond the perception of our physical senses, this is where the "real world" lies, whereas this current condition we experience in our time bound and "dying" universe is merely a passing curiosity, a glitch, a hiccup.
