You would'nt really. Not unless you were in space, watching the earth for days on end. But that would be nearly impossible, as you would be looking at the sun.

What if the moon was not in orbit of the earth?

If the moon was not in orbit around the Earth, the tilt of the Earth's axis with respect to the plane of the ecliptic would be unstable. As a result, seasons and climate would be unstable, and life as we know it on Earth would change or disappear.

What is the difference between geocentric and heliocentric?

Geocentric understanding places the Earth at the center of the solar system or universe (depending on what is being discussed, and when) A Heliocentric understanding places the sun at the center of the solar system, or universe.

How do i know the earth is turning?

You can observe Earth's rotation by watching the movement of the stars in the night sky. As Earth rotates, the stars appear to move across the sky in an eastward direction. This phenomenon is known as diurnal motion and is evidence that the Earth is spinning on its axis.

What words mean to move in a circle around something?

To move in a circle around something is called revolving. To move around the same point is called rotation. To move around another stationary object is called orbiting. The earth rotates on its own axis while also orbiting around the sun.

How would earth systems be affected if earth's axis were perpendicular to its orbital plane?

If Earth's axis were perpendicular to its orbital plane (i.e., the axis of rotation were upright), there would be no change in the Earth's relationship with the Sun. However, this change would eliminate the seasons as we know them, leading to more consistent temperatures around the world. Climate patterns and biodiversity could also be greatly affected as a result.

What if the earth stop revolving around the sun?

Well im not entirely sure but from what i know life would slowly become extinct on earth because we wouldn't get sufficient heat to keep the water in a liquid form, causing every life form to slowly die. Also we may crash into some space objects. If the earth stops revolving....there will be night all the time at one half of the Earth and day light on the other half.........plants will die......and new consequences could be seen if happened...This will make time change.

What takes about 28 days to complete?

Hey y'all!! ;) I only know one thing that takes about 28 days to complete. And that is the moon revolving around the Earth once. Hope that helped ya!!

Why the planet keep revolving around the sun?

I don't know ask ya mum :P

How do you know that you are rotating and revolving?

You can tell you are rotating if you are spinning around an axis. You can tell you are revolving if you are moving in a circular path around a central point. These motions can be observed by tracking changes in position relative to a fixed point or axis.

Why is there a sun around the earth surfering us?

with out the sun there would be no life (as we know it).

What would happen if the earth suddenly stops revoving?

When the Earth is revolving a force know as centripetal force is applied on it by the sun or in other words we can say that it is the gravitational pull of sun towards itself and there is another force known as centrifugal force that one feels when traveling a circular path; directed outward, it is actually the inertia of an object that is resisting being pulled in a circular path. when the earth stops revolving then there is no centrifugal force and the centripetal force will be acting on Earth which will cause earth to fall in the sun.
