There are many delicate nerves, bones and muscles in the wrist, that are connected to the entire body- harming one area of the body can and will have severe effects.
You can become partially paralyzed, get a severe infection and lose the use of your hand and arm. There's always a risk that it won't heal properly, so deliberately breaking a bone really isn't advisable.
FYI -it'll hurt like heck! You can't break a bone painlessly unless you are sedated. And even then it would hurt bad when the sedation wears off.
There are a few reasons why someone would want to break their wrist but in each scenario there is a better way out:
1.Breaking your wrist to avoid a certain situations
....such as a Final Exam, a Family vacation, school prom etc... In such cases it is best to admit you do not want to go, or just FAIL the exam. Nothing is worth harming yourself.
(or at least fake a fever/stomach ache instead of breaking a body part).
2. You are involved in self mutilation-
basically harming your body (other means of mutilation include burning, cutting...)
In such a case, It may be very difficult, but you need to seek professional help- such as a psychiatrist, social worker etc...
