Most black holes are what we call "stellar mass" black holes which range from about 3 times to 30 times the mass of the sun. The event horizon of a 30 solar mass black hole would be about 110 miles in diameter. Earth, by comparison, is just over 7,900 miles in diameter. An intermediate mass black hole about 1,340 times the mass of the sun would have an event horizon about the same size as Earth.
