The average height of an eruption cloud from a volcano can vary widely depending on the type and intensity of the eruption. However, for explosive eruptions, clouds can rise between 10,000 to 30,000 feet (3,000 to 9,000 meters) within the first 30 minutes. In some cases, particularly powerful eruptions can produce ash clouds that reach heights of 50,000 feet (15,000 meters) or more in a short time.

Chances are that it will not. The volcano has produced three super eruptions in the past 2.1 million years at intervals of 800,000 to 660,000 years. Three eruptions is not enough to set an average pace, but if we were to do so, all we would know is that the volcano stands a fair chance of having a super eruption some time in the next 260,000 years. The last eruption, though not a super eruption, was about 70,000 years ago. On these time scales the chances of an eruption occurring even in the next few hundred years are very small.
