The distance between the Earth and the Sun varies from day to day. The Earth is closest to the Sun on January 4, (plus or minus one day) and farthest away from the Sun on July 4. There is very little difference from year to year.
From 1950 to 2009 there were 36 tornadoes recorded in Lasalle County, Illinois.
The distance between the Sun and Earth in the year 100 AD was roughly the same as it is today, about 93 million miles (150 million kilometers). This distance is known as an astronomical unit (AU), which is the average distance between the Earth and the Sun.
August the 27th of this year (2009) is when Mars is to be the closest it has ever been to the earth. It is supposedly to be about the same size in the sky as the moon.
It would have to be Mercury, Venus or Mars; even at its closest, Jupiter is farther away than Venus at its most distant. I use a planetarium program called Stellarium - available for free from stellarium.org - to perform these calculations. I highly recommend it. Mercury is presently (21 Aug 2009) closest at .9 AU, while Venus is next at 1.2 and Mars at 1.6 AU away.
The geographic North and South Poles are the points representing the earth's axis and about which it rotates. The Geomagnetic Poles are the points where the earth's magnetic lines of force converge. The north and south geomagnetic poles are both some distance from the geographic poles.

Im not sure exactly when it came out but it was released in late 2009 to early 2010
Because the Earth and Saturn both orbit the Sun, the distance between Earth and Saturn varies constantly. I use the Stellarium program to calculate the distance; as of 12:45 PM PDT on April 5, 2009 it is 8.514366 AU.

Chelsea have won the E.P.L. three times from 1950 to 2009. They won it in 1950, 2004, 2005, under Jose Mourinho.
As of 6:15 PM, PDT on March 22, 2009, the Earth was .99699 AU from the Sun.One AU is the mean distance between the Earth and the Sun;149,597,870,691 KM, or 92,955,807,300 milesHowever, the Earth's orbit is not a perfect circle, but an ellipse. In December, the Earth is closer to the Sun; in July, it is farther away. You can download and install the free Stellarium program to get calculations of the distances between Earth and other bodies.
