All cells undergo mitosis othe than gametic cells (these are reproductive cells, ie sperm cells and ovums). Mitosis is the cells way of dividing to produce two identical daughter cells, which is necessary for all 'normal' cells of the body. The reproductive cells need to carry non identical information though otherwise you would end up with children who were all exactly alike

In which types of cells does mitosis not occur?

Mitosis does not occur in sex cells, such as sperm and egg cells, as they undergo a different type of cell division called meiosis.

What does not occur in plants cell mitosis but does occur in animal cell mitosis?

Astral rays does occur in animal cells not in plant cell

How are mitosis and meiosis simlair?

Meiosis and Mitosis are both the division of something. Meiosis is the division of chromosomes and Mitosis is the division of cells. They both occur in the cell cycle. Meiosis creates 4 daughter cells and Mitosis creates two complete cells.

Does mitosis occur in the phloem?

No, mitosis does not occur in the phloem. Mitosis is the process of cell division, and in the phloem, specialized cells called sieve elements are responsible for transporting sugars. These sieve elements are formed via a process called differentiation, not mitosis.

Does longitudinal splitting of chromosomes occur in mitosis?

No, longitudinal splitting of chromosomes does not occur in mitosis. During mitosis, chromosomes condense and align along the metaphase plate before being separated into two daughter cells. Longitudinal splitting can occur during meiosis I to produce haploid daughter cells.

The first step in meiosis?

Interphase then Mitosis then Cytokinesis then Mitosis the Cytokinesis That's what I remember. Mitosis will occur twice; the reason why there 4 daughter cells (gametes) and they are haploid.

Why are skin cells under going mitosis continuously?

in what phase of meiosis does synapse occur ?

Which cells would you expect mitosis to occur more often teeth or skin and why?

Mitosis would occur more often in skin cells than in teeth cells. This is because skin cells undergo constant regeneration to replace old or damaged cells, whereas teeth cells do not undergo regular cell turnover like skin cells.

Do eukaryotic cells undergo mitosis?

Yes, eukaryotic cells undergo mitosis during the cell cycle in order to replicate and divide. Mitosis is the process by which a single cell divides into two identical daughter cells, each with the same number of chromosomes as the parent cell.

In a human body give an example of a where mitosis may occur Give an example of where meiosis would occur?

Mitosis occurs in somatic cells to generate new cells for growth and repair throughout the body. For example, mitosis occurs in skin cells to replace old or damaged skin cells. Meiosis occurs in reproductive cells to produce gametes (sperm and eggs). For example, meiosis occurs in the testes to produce sperm cells in males and in the ovaries to produce egg cells in females.

In what type of cell does mitosis occur?

Mitosis occurs in eukaryotic cells, which are cells with a defined nucleus and membrane-bound organelles. Most multicellular organisms go through mitosis during growth, repair, and asexual reproduction.
