No place on earth is truly 'earthquake free.' Manitoba, however, is certainly not located in what might be called a high risk area. Of course, neither is Toronto, yet we have felt a few minor earthquakes over the years. But none caused any damage worthy of note. The US Geological Survey has lots of information about earthquakes.
