Yes. The LR-20 is a D-sized 1.5-volt alkaline battery. The battery number for Duracell is MN1300.
A typical D battery has a power output of around 1.5 volts. The power output can vary slightly depending on the specific brand and type of battery.
Electricity flows from the negative terminal (-) to the positive terminal (+) in a D-cell battery.
It takes eighth batteries. each battery, being AA, A , C,or D have 1.5v per cell. if you put them all in series; neg. - pos., neg - pos., and so on it will take eight D batteries to make 12 volts.
D batteries are larger than AA batteries, which means they contain more energy and a larger capacity to deliver power over a longer period of time. This results in D batteries being considered stronger than AA batteries, even though they have the same voltage.
Generally, yes, they are the same. The term "lead storage battery" is a bit incorrect, but it conveys the idea that the battery in question is a lead-acid storage battery. These storage batteries are the ones we commonly find in vehicles. With sulfuric acid and water in the electrolyte, and lead and lead dioxide for electrodes, this battery, while having a low energy-to-weight ratio, can deliver some very high surge current, which is what the doctor ordered to start said vehicles.
The D-LR20 is a single use 1.5 volt alkaline "D" cell. There are a number of manufacturers of these cells, and they carry many brand names including Sony, Panasonic, Memorex and more.
The capacity of a LR20 battery, also known as a D-cell battery, typically ranges from 10,000 to 20,000 milliampere-hours (mAh) depending on the brand and specific chemistry (alkaline, rechargeable, etc.). Alkaline LR20 batteries generally have a capacity around 15,000 mAh, while rechargeable NiMH versions tend to have lower capacities, usually around 8,000 mAh. Always check the specifications on the packaging for exact figures.

R20 are zinc-carbon batteries, whereas LR20 are alkaline batteries.
Nom they are not the same at all.
If we assume the same battery chemistry and quality, and the same drain, then the D cell will last longer than the AAA cell, as the bigger size means it'll hold a bigger amount of energy.

Yes you can use C-cells ... they are the same voltage BUT, they will rattle around and loose contact. Your best bet is to get some more D-Cells.
A "C" battery has a 1.5 Volts same with AAA, AA, and D batteries.
Unfortunately, boomboxes only take D batteries.
Depends on whether the battery is rechargeable or not, and the battery chemistry, there are several different in the D-cell size.
