A clear plastic 30 oz drinking cup with PS under sign with a number 6 and company who sells them tells me
The item in question is made from High Heat Styrene and has a recycling symbol of #6. However, all of the resins we use in the production of our beverage containers have been FDA approved for food contact. They contain no Bisphenol A or BPA.
does that mean I can drink Orange Juice, Soy milk or water from this cup?
thanks
When styrene is polymerized to make polystyrene, a chemical reaction occurs where the styrene monomer molecules combine to form a long chain polymer structure. This reaction is typically initiated by heat or a catalyst. The resulting polystyrene material is a thermoplastic with properties such as clarity, stiffness, and insulation.
Plastic hairdryers are typically made of a type of plastic called ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene). ABS is commonly used for its lightweight, impact resistance, and heat resistance properties, making it suitable for manufacturing hairdryers.
Heating up styrofoam can release toxic fumes, including styrene, which is harmful to humans. It is not recommended to heat up styrofoam as it can pose health risks.
SAN is an acronym for Styrene-Acrylonitrile, a type of thermoplastic material that offers good clarity and chemical resistance. It is commonly used in the production of food containers, cosmetic packaging, and medical devices due to its durability and heat resistance. SAN is also known for its ease of molding and ability to maintain its shape at high temperatures.

Heat (300º?) styrene oxide in a closed system, you will obtain a mixture of styrene oxide and phenyl acetaldehyde. IIRC you can heat at reflux S.O. and some kind of silica catalyst with a solvent and obtain that same product.
Ice cools a warm drink by absorbing heat energy from the liquid, causing the temperature of the drink to decrease. This process is known as heat transfer, where the heat from the drink is transferred to the ice, making the drink colder.
Wood is the best insulator of heat. Copper is the best conductor of heatwood chips, styrene, and any fabric with lots of air pockes

Do not apply moist heat or vigorously rub the muscles. Rest and replenishing electrolytes should resolve the problem. However, if heat cramps do not improve within 1 to 2 hours, call your doctor or visit an ER.
Clear liquids, like water, have the ability to absorb and retain heat. When exposed to heat, clear liquids will increase in temperature as they absorb the thermal energy. This property is utilized in various applications such as cooling systems and heat transfer processes.

it absorbs it. there is no such thing as cold energy, and even less so "cold particles," only heat flow.
the spoon is metal and metal conducts heat , if you put a metal spoon in a drink the drink will retain the heat but if you take it out it's like your taking a whole lot of heat, in other words a metal spoon is like a magnet of heat it you remove the spoon it will remove heat but if you keep it in the heat will stay.shoraye khatter.
Hair dryers are typically made from heat-resistant and durable plastics such as ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) or polycarbonate. These materials can withstand the heat generated by the hair dryer during use while remaining lightweight and durable.
