Plankton is not a herbivore, nor any type of consumer. Plankton is a photosynthetic autotroph; an autotroph being an organism that synthesizes its required organic compounds either through photosynthesis or inorganic chemosynthesis. Other autotrophs include plants, algae and some bacteria.
Conversely, consumers, such as herbivores, carnivores, omnivores and detrivores, are known collectively as heterotrophs, meaning that they must derive their required compounds from the consumption of other preexisting organic compounds.
A green fly, commonly known as a greenbottle fly, is primarily a carnivore as it often feeds on decaying organic matter and can also prey on other small insects. However, during its larval stage, it may also consume decomposing material, which positions it as a scavenger. Overall, while it has characteristics of both a carnivore and a decomposer, it is not a herbivore.

As a condor (vulture) is a scavenger on dead carcases, the condor is a carnivore.
The sandbar shark is a carnivore, feeding primarily on small fish, crustaceans, and squid. They are not considered herbivores, omnivores, or scavengers.
The scavenger is more of a carnivore so is gets the energy and nutrients from the animals it eats. The herbivore eats only plants so it gets the nutrients from the producers which are the plants. The producers get the nutrients from the sun so they can preform a process called photosynthesis that makes their own food . The omnivore eats both animals and plants for example, humans are usually omnivores. So the nutrients come from producers and scavengers. Decomposers I think are like fungi. So it probably works the same way for producers.

It's herbivore because it eats the leaves and eats passed away pepole
