Sharks are fish because, like fish, they breathe using gills. Only juvenile amphibians breathe using gills.

The other major difference is in the composition of their skin covering. Amphibians have moist skin; sharks and other fish have scales. in the case of the shark, its tiny placoid scales from a tough skin.
