Most people take it as inherently true that grass is green, but in reality it is the process of the receptors in our eyes detecting specific photons reflected off the grass and the way our brain processes that signal which gives us the illusion of its color. To a life-form which processes spacial awareness using echolocation grass would not appear as green, nor any other color in our visual spectrum.
The concept of color and meaning are both inventions of the mind and consciousness, this does not make them any less real.
