yes midnight and noon are both in the p.m.because p.m. is night and afternoon a.m. is in the morning 12:01 to 11:59.Its confusing.
No such time as '12pm'. It is either 12noon or 12 midnight. 'pm' . are the initials of the Latin Phrase ; ' Post Meridian', meaning 'after noon'. So if it is 12 noon it is NOT 'after noon', but exactly 'noon'. Similarly, 'am' . are the initials of the Latin Phrase ; ' Ante Meridian', meaning 'before noon'. So if it is 12 noon it is NOT before noon', but exactly 'noon'. A similar argument holds for 12 midnight, which 'noon' are we talking about???? After the last noon , or before the next noon. So please clarify your 12pm to either 'noon' or midnight'.

Noon EDT = 7 PM EAT
Modern digital clocks display "PM" at exactly noon, so that has become sort of a de facto convention. If you examine what "am" and "pm" mean, you get another story. "AM" is an abbreviation for the Latin words meaning "before noon." "PM" is an abbreviation for "after noon." Noon is neither before noon nor is it after noon. The "M" stands for the Latin word meaning "noon." So in old documents, you may see twelve noon referred to as "12:00 M." Of course, that is confusing to most people because the word "midnight" also starts with an "m." The use of "m" (meridian) to mean noon has fallen out of favor in modern usage.Confusion abounds as to the correct usage. If at all possible, you should try to use 11:59 am or 12:01 pm to avoid confusion. If that is not possible, just say 12:00 noon.
It is normally considered to be 2 hours, as 12pm is normally considered to represent noon.Note that technically "pm" stands for Post meridiem (in Latin) which would mean "after noon". So 12pm would be 12 after noon, or midnight. However 12pm being noon is the norm.
