I'd like to issue a disclaimer that I am not a medical professional, just an HIV community educator and counselor.

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is the virus that causes AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.)

Individuals infected with HIV may become more apt to develop infections as their immune system is weakened by the virus over time. When someone has a weakened immune system, they are succeptible to "opportunitistic infections." Opportunistic infections are diseases that those with normal immune function do not have to be concerned about contracting.

Apart from opportunistic infections, those with HIV infection may have increased difficulty when infected with other viruses, bacteria, fungi ect.

Of the infections listed, rheumatoid arthiritis stands out as the condition that would be least likely to be caused by HIV infection. Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic, systemic inflammatory disorder that may affect many tissues and organs, but principally attacks the joints. A person may be predisposed to RA and HIV can increase the severity of the condition, however the virus is not the cause of the condition.

Spleen located where in the intestine?

The spleen is not located in the intestine; it is actually an organ in the upper left part of the abdomen, under the ribcage and above the stomach. It is part of the lymphatic system and plays a key role in filtering blood, storing blood cells, and fighting infection. The intestine, on the other hand, is a long, tube-like organ in the digestive system where nutrients are absorbed from food.

What occurs when a portion of the intestine is constricted inside a hernia cutting off it's blood supply?

When a portion of the intestine becomes constricted inside a hernia, it can lead to a condition known as strangulation. This occurs when the blood supply to that part of the intestine is cut off, which can result in tissue death (necrosis) if not addressed promptly. Strangulated hernias are considered a surgical emergency, as they can lead to severe complications like infection, sepsis, and perforation of the intestine. Immediate medical intervention is necessary to restore blood flow and remove any necrotic tissue.
