The thalamus
The axon carries electrical impulses, known as action potentials, away from the neuron's cell body. These impulses travel along the axon membrane, facilitated by the movement of ions in and out of the neuron. The axon terminates at synapses, where neurotransmitters are released to communicate with other neurons or target cells. This process is essential for transmitting signals throughout the nervous system.
Diffusion of transmitters across synaptic cleft is the process by which neurotransmitters are released from the presynaptic neuron into the synaptic cleft and then bind to receptors on the postsynaptic neuron. This allows for the transmission of signals from one neuron to another in the nervous system.
neuron
Nervous System - since brain and the spinal cord are part of it.
The smallest neurons in the nervous system are called granule cells, which are found in the cerebellum. Ganglia are clusters of neuron cell bodies outside the central nervous system, and the smallest ganglion is likely to vary depending on location in the body.
A preganglionic neuron is a type of neuron located in the central nervous system that forms synapses with ganglionic neurons in the autonomic nervous system. It carries signals from the central nervous system to the ganglia, allowing for communication between the brain and the autonomic nervous system.

Neuron is the unit of structure in the nervous system.
There are 3 types, the motor neuron, the sensory neuron, and the interneuron

Neuron is in the Nervous System
Sensory neuron and motor neuron.
The transmission between neurons depends on the number of neurotransmitters that are present. If there aren't enough transmitters, the impulse is not passed into the second neuron, meaning it's cut down. If there are enough, it leads to an action potential (nerve impulse) in the second neuron. The nerve system is a rather confusing, and very technical, system in the body.
