Pangaea
Approximately 30% of the Earth's surface is covered by land, the remaining 70% of the surface is covered by water.
The Earth's surface has changed significantly over time due to processes such as plate tectonics, erosion, and volcanic activity. Continents have shifted positions, mountains have formed and eroded, and oceans have expanded and contracted. These changes have been ongoing for billions of years and continue to shape the Earth's surface today.
The continents are embedded in the top side of crustal plates which float on the surface of the mantle. Convection currents in the mantle carry the plates around and the embedded continents travel along.
The Earth's land is collectively called the Earth's crust, which is the outermost layer of the Earth's surface where all the continents, mountains, and other landforms are located.
Continents drift on top of the upper mantle. The core is much further down.
Wegener's theory that the continents slowly moved over Earth's surface became known as the theory of continental drift.
Continents cover about 29% of the Earth's surface area. The rest of the surface is predominantly ocean.
the earths plates shifted....
In great detail
Just under 30%
Approximately 30% of the Earth's surface is covered by land, the remaining 70% of the surface is covered by water.
The continents have moved, Volcanoes and mountains have made hige changes in the earths suface too.
One third is surface and the rest is the sea.
mostly water. There are some continents on there too though i believe.
the earth can be organized into 4 oceans, 7 seas, and 7 continents
The world is about 30% land and about 70% water
