To prove that light is needed for photosynthesis you must:
1. De-starch a plant by leaving it 48 hours in the dark.
2. Cover part of a leaf
3. Allow the plant to photosynthesis in light for 4 hours
4. Test leaf for starch (starch turns iodine solution black)
*Starch should not be present in the area you have covered as light is will not have been able to pass through.
*You can use black masking tape or aluminum foil to cover the wanted area of the leaf.
if photosynthesis is to take place you need light.
light = photosynthesis !
It is the second step of photosynthesis. It does not need light
They need light and carbon dioxide.
Roots are underground so they don't get any energy from sunlight they need for photosynthesis.

Priestly, and Melvin Calvin! Look it up if you need to know who invented photosynthesis! I hope this helps!
We need light in photosynthesis as Light provides the energy source. The process is based on light. The plants use light to convert energy. The same reason that we need air to breath.

Dandelions need light to grow just like almost any other plant.
chlorophyll is the primary pigment. It is much needed for photosynthesis.

Photoautotrophs need water, carbon dioxide, and light energy in order to power photosynthesis.
Plant's need sunlight to grow.
