Poachers were blamed, but large amounts of cash and valuables found at the scene suggest poachers were not to blame, for they would have taken the cash. She wrote a successful book, "Gorillas In The Mist", which was made into a movie starring Sigourney Weaver. The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund is named in her honor.
