1. 1. the part of the tube closest to the pinna is full of nerve endings and is covered with soft sensitive skin. Old skin is pushed out when new skin grows, naturally cleaning the ear canal.

   2. the canal has small hairs that filter out debris.

   3. the ear contains wax fibres (ceruman strands) to catch small dust particles.

   Consists of three layers of different materials:

   2. Next layer fibrous and elastic material

   3. Mucus producing lining
