fer·til·iz·er - noun. fertilizers have a large number of natural and synthetic materials, including manure and nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium compounds, spread on or worked into soil to increase its capacity to support plant growth. By being able to increase the amount of essential minerals in plant soil such as nitrates, the plants can grow larger naturally giving farmers a larger harvest. So, basically the farmer can make more of a prophet out of their crops without the use of chemicals which are not much good for anything.
