Now our thirst for oil and gas to keep the vehicles we use running, which is coupled to the continued efforts of oil and car companies to keep us "high" on petroleum fuels, fetters development of new technologies that would allow us to "get off" fossil fuels and make the earth a better place to live - for both people and other lifeforms as well. Note: No attempt is made nor desire extant to "bash" the oil companies or car makers. Commentary is directed at the simple fact that these two industries are not interested in anything that would put them out of business, or even substantially reduce their revenues. What companies work to downsize themselves or eliminate the need for their products?
