I recently sowed some moonflower seeds indoors and more than half of them have germinated within 2 weeks and are growing like wildfire! I'm a first timer and it's great to see such instant results. The seeds have a hard shell so I soaked them in water for about 2 days before sowing. Other than that I just used regular potting mix from the garden center and had them covered with plastic before they fully germinated. -david

Some plant species have adaptations like vivipary which allows seeds to germinate while still attached to the parent plant. This typically occurs in moist environments where conditions are suitable for seed germination. In vivipary, the seedling may start growing before the seed is dispersed, giving it a head start once it falls from the parent plant.
