I will assume that for the purpose of the question, destroying all life on Earth is sufficient... Here are a few things that could happen in the future - some of them quite unlikely, some in a very, very distant future.

The Sun could stop giving light. Thus, living beings no longer have the energy they need.

However, before this happens, it is expected that the Sun will become extraordinarily hot; so we wouldn't die from cold and lack of energy, but from heat.

If the Sun becomes big enough, it can actually swallow the planet Earth. This would destroy the planet, not only life on Earth.

A nearby supernova could cause serious damage to Earth.

A collision with an asteroid would destroy Earth (or life on Earth), if the asteroid is large enough.

A black hole that happens to collide with Earth might swallow it up entirely.

Of more immediate concern are things humans could themselves do to planet Earth. Especially, a nuclear war might destroy all larger forms of life.
